YA Book Prize Shortlist

The YA Book Prize (@yabookprize) is (yes, you guessed it) an award celebrating young adult, British fiction and it celebrates its inauguration this year. Below are the short-listed novels with links, where applicable, to my reviews (or Goodreads). All of the books are (of course!) fabulous – but which do you think you should win the prize?

A Song for Ella Gray David Almond cover Salvage Keren David cover
Say Her Name by James Dawson cover  Lobsters book cover by Lucy Ivision and Tom Ellen
Half-Bad-Sally-Green Finding a Voice by Kim Hood cover
Only Ever Yours by Louise O'Neill cover Goose by Dawn O'Porter cover
Trouble by Non Pratt cover The Ghosts of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick cover

Personally, I still have to read a lot of these (Ghosts of Heaven I’m definitely excited about – I love Sedgwick’s experimental style) but I just love Half Bad and Trouble.

So may the odds be ever in your favour…I mean…good luck everyone!
